REGULATION  OF  IMPLEMENTATION AND TEMPORARY RULES

MEMBERS   NOMINATION

Art. 1.- The   national and foreign members  will be elected according to Art.17 of the Statute. A diploma and a golden medal reproducing the effigy of the goddess Athena will be given to them. These can bear the title of  << Academician >>.
     No payment of money is required, but the Academicians could donate spontaneously works or valuables to the Academy for the attainment of  the goal.

 Art. 2.– A number of Academicians no greater then a tenth part of the members of the Academic Senate will be nominated to the Presidency’s Council each year, and in percentage of the categories to which  the candidates can be ascribed.

Art. 3. –The meritorious members and the correspondent members nominated according to Art.23 of the Statute, are required the payment of the registration fee and  annual dues, established annually by the Presidency’s Council.
    They will receive free of charge  a copy of the magazine << Il Notiziario dell’Accademia Internazionale d’Arte Moderna >> (News from the International Academy of Modern Art ).
    People of culture  could be included in the << Academic register >> according to Art.6 of the statute.

PUBLICATIONS 

      Art. 4. –The president will look after the publication of the periodical magazine << Il  Notiziario dell’Accademia Internazionale d’Arte Moderna >>, that will be sent free of charge to all the national and foreign members. The magazine may be sold to  non-members, or to the members who after receiving the first copy, free of charge,  want additional copies.     

Art. 5. – All members and also non-members may contribute  to the previously mentioned magazine published by  the A.I.A.M.. Only  works considered  worthy will be published.
     The magazine may include reproductions of works of art of the members, upon  payment of the printing expenses. 
    The magazine may include in the first page, the composition of the academic senate and in the appendix the alphabetic list of the member  artists, with the identification of the works and the assessed or declared quotation (QA-QD)

Art. 6. –The publications may  be collected annually into one volume, integrated by other updated useful news and sold at  a sale price to be established annually.

 Art. 7. –In the publications of the subsequent years the members have the right to update their own curriculum vitae (CV), if they are current with the payment of the annual registration fee.

Art. 8. – The  president, in the capacity of editor,  has the power to designate  the editorial staff, a co-director and as many collaborators he deems necessary, establishing in his judgement any honorarium, if  the magazine’s balance sheet does not have liabilities.       

 

SHOWS AND PRIZE-GIVING

      Art. 9. – The president may authorize one class or one category of class to promote one or more annual shows, cultural debates and art exhibitions. The works  will be shown in the halls of the Academy premises and may be sold in person by the authors or by their delegates, since no commercial activity is allowed at the Academy, nor directly, nor through a third party. The member who participates in the shows must reimburse the Academy for expenses  pro-quota computed on the operating costs only. 

Art. 10 - The member who comes  first in the shows of figurative arts may be awarded a purchase prize in gold, represented by a gold medal, carrying  on one side the effigy of goddess Athena and on the other side the description of the first prize awarded by the International Academy of Modern Art and the year.   

Art. 11 –Within thirty days from the beginning of the session, a highly qualified jury will be constituted and will be composed of people of culture and from  the  world of Art. The members of the Academic Senate may  participate in it. It will be composed by five permanent  and two temporary members. The prize mentioned at the Art.10 may or may not be awarded , according to the unquestionable decision of the jury, who can award minor prizes, previously established.

CULTURE  PRIZES

INTERNATIONAL  ANNUAL TROPHY << MEDUSA AUREA >>

 

      Art. 12.- In January 28, 1978, following a Council resolution,  a competition for the figurative arts has been instituted, and  later extended also to the first class. The  <<Medusa Aurea >> trophy, awarded annually is  open to everyone, members and non-members, Italians and foreigners.
     The trophy is awarded to the candidate who comes  first. The trophy is represented by a bronze sculpture made by Master Nunzio Bibbò,  better described in the deposit record registered with n.1/234602 Reg. P.G. of the works protected, according to law of 22-4-1941 n.633. The deposit record has been published as a bulletin by the copyright office of  the Prime Minister’s office.
     A silvery medal, reproducing the trophy in small size  is awarded to the artists who come second.
     A bronze medal, reproducing the trophy in small size is awarded to the artists who come third.
     A parchment is given to all participants.
    The works will be selected previously by a pre-determined jury. The decision of the jury is final, and  is not open to appeal.
    The trophy winners  have  the  right  to  participate  in  the  International  Trophy << Athena Aurea >> held every three years and described in the

INTERNATIONAL TRIENNAL TROPHY << ATHENA AUREA >>

Art. 13.- The prize already instituted with the regulations of implementation approved the 27-3-76,  lodged according to the rule of law and registered on 10-9-76 with n. 2718, invites the participation of artists of any age, social status, and nationality, with genuine works.
     The winners of the << Medusa Aurea >> trophy,  have the right to participate, and the jury may invite the artists who come second at the  <<Medusa Aurea >> trophy, in the last three years.
     No more then five artists are admitted from each nation; the pre-selection  is conducted by the cultural associations of the country to which they belong, through the diplomatic Authorities of the adhering nations.
     The number of the Italian candidates may be increased by means of Council resolution.
    The candidate who comes first, in each category, is awarded a trophy represented by a metal sculpture of rolled gold, reproducing the effigy of goddess Athena, approximately twenty-two (22) cm high, bearing on the base the name of the Academy, the class, year  and  category, for which it has been awarded.
     Only one trophy is awarded for each category. Per decision of the jury equivalent prizes may be awarded.

 Art. 14. – The procedure of the prize-giving  contemplates a period of ninety days from the beginning of the session. For the preparation of the modalities and the composition of the Jury, who will be selected, with the characteristics according to the Art.11, by at least seven permanent members and four temporaries, always in odd numbers, of which at least two  must be foreigners.
     Within the following ninety days, the competition  must be advertised in Italy and abroad. The participation in the competition can take place by adhesion or  invitation. The works participating in the trophy award, travel at the participant’s expense and must  arrive at the premises of the Academy within the one-hundred-eightieth and the two-hundred-tenth day from the beginning of the operations, that is within thirty days following the advertising.
     From the two-hundred-tenth and the two-hundred-fortieth day, the works  will remain exposed in the showroom of the Academy and the members of the jury must go there one by one to examine them.
     Within the following fifteen days, the members of the jury  must present  the Academy with a written account of the works shown. Later they will  convene in a single session  to discuss the written accounts presented, which might be modified, and then will be drawn up as the minutes of the meeting. With that  will be awarded the trophy <<Athena Aurea >>.
     In the case that the examining board finds none of the works shown are of merit , the prize  will not be awarded.
    All exhibitors  will be issued a document certifying the participation in the <<Athena >> prize. The prize-giving ceremony will be carried out in a prestigious place in Rome, where the works will remain exposed to the public for thirty days.

 

COURSES OF EDUCATION

Art. 15.- In the case that private and public funds are raised, courses of higher education will be instituted for some  categories, according to the rules that  will be issued in due time and for such purpose.

ARTISTIC  CLUB

Art. 16. – The members of the Academy may constitute a private club of artists, where all the members can join.
   The club  will be governed by is own  statute, and   might carry out cultural and recreational activities, always in  respect of the governing laws; it will have  an independent management, but  will  be under the control of the Presidency of the Academy, who it  will impose the presence of an Academy’s member on the board of directors of the Club, with the right of veto on activities considered non appropriate and unwelcome by the Academy for moral and prestige reasons.
      The Club must pay out to the cashier’s desk of the Academy a contribution from its gross income in an amount to be established.

ADMINISTRATION AND ASSETS

Art. 17. – In the first meeting of the Presidency’s Council of each session,   pressing measures, the final balance, the budget and the changes to the present  regulations, will be discussed and approved, with particular reference to the fees mentioned in Art.3.

Art. 18. - The ordinary business  will be kept by the administrator, while  the extraordinary administration expenses must be authorized  by the majority of the Presidency ‘s Council. Such resolutions  will be valid if issued by at least three members, provided that among them there is the president and the administrator.

Art. 19.- The works, donated by the members,  constitute possessions of the Academy and therefore  will constitute the assets of the Academy itself. Only in the case of heavy liabilities of the final balance sheet, their sale  might be authorized, with resolution issued according to the rules of the extraordinary administration, contemplated by  Art. 18 of the present regulations.

Art. 20. – During the management of the current Presidency’s Council and  as required, the ordinary business will be kept by the president of the Academy.
